Recreational Volunteer Coaching
We rely on over 200 volunteer Rec coaches every season to be involved in our Recreational Program. No soccer or coaching experience is necessary, and the commitment is limited. Visit our Helpful Links to the right to read more about volunteering in our Recreational Program.
Game Day Experience (field marshal) Volunteers
Game Day Experience Group
The Game Day Experience volunteers are responsible for the experience that parents, players, coaches, and staff have on a Saturday or Sunday during the season. The volunteers will:
a. Open or close facilities or fields
b. Monitor traffic and parking
c. Assist with any lost parents or spectators
d. Dump trash bins and general pick up of field
Concession Stand, Equipment Exchange, and Lost & Found Volunteers
Concession Stand, Equipment Exchange, and Lost and Found Group
The Concession Stand, Equipment Exchange, and Lost and Found volunteers are responsible for weekly or monthly assistance for events that occur in addition to league play or large fundraisers. The volunteers will:
a. Help as cashier (Concession Stand).
b. Open/close equipment room and help those donating or needing equipment (Equipment Exchange).
c. Table all lost and found items, bag remaining items, and leave bins empty, and bagged gear in shed to be taken to Goodwill or donated to outside organizations (Lost and Found).
Field Maintenance Volunteers
Field Maintenance Group
The Field Maintenance volunteers are responsible for the weekly trash pick up for various fields, and traffic oversight at Coan/MLK field. The volunteers will:
a. Walk entire field and pick up trash
b. Remove lost and found items and bring to Arizona lost and found bins
c. Re-bag any small cans that require re-bagging
d. Dump trash in main dumpsters
e. Direct traffic at peak hours at Coan/MLK field
Fundraisers and Events Volunteers
Fundraisers and Events Group
The Fundraisers and Events volunteers are responsible for the efficiency and support of annual or seasonal fundraisers or special program events. The volunteers will:
a. Provide administrative help
b. Event set up or break down
c. Check in
d. Auction help
e. Equipment or t-shirt hand out
f. Food or station supervisors
Camps and Tryout Volunteers
Camps and Tryouts Group
The Camps and Tryouts volunteers are responsible for the efficiency and support of seasonal camps and our Academy and Select tryouts every year. The volunteers will:
a. Set up or break down event
b. Perform pre- or post-camp or tryout administrative duties
c. Check in participants
Team Manager Volunteers
Team Managers Group
The Team Managers volunteers are responsible for the administrative functions of the team for each season. The volunteers will:
a. Manage team’s official team binder (player cards, rosters, and medical releases and history)
b. Communicate to team (weekly practices, tournament schedules, club announcements)
c. Communicate to program Director of Coaching
d. Register for team tournaments and club passing for league play
e. Submit reimbursements and expense reporting
Volunteer Committee Member
Overview
As a member of the Volunteer Committee, you work with IAFC Staff and Board to ensure we have a robust, energized, and amazing community of volunteers. From organizing game day field marshals, to supporting fundraiser events, and even assisting with our recruitment efforts, the volunteer committee plays a vital role in the efficient and effective management of the club. The Volunteer Committee members are ambassadors for our volunteer community and for IAFC.
Commitment
Attend at least 4/6 bi-monthly (every other month) meetings per year, and manage and oversee one broad group of volunteers - see list below (approximately 2-4 hours per month).
General Duties and Responsibilities
a. Attend and participate in bi-monthly meetings
b. Be responsible for managing one broad “group” of volunteer needs
c. Outreach to fellow volunteers in your sphere of influence to encourage participation in events
