IAFC ACADEMY CUP

May 9–10, 2026
Inter Atlanta FC is proud to host the annual IAFC Academy Cup, a competitive end-of-season tournament for boys and girls teams in the U8–U12 Academy age groups.
Tournament headquarters will be based at Arizona Avenue Fields, with additional nearby facilities used as needed to accommodate all matches.
Rules
Pregame Procedure:
The coach or team manager must present the team’s official roster/game card, approved by the tournament, and player passes (when requested) to the referee or tournament official.
- The referee or tournament official will verify the identity of the players on the roster/game card.
- Player’s equipment will be checked by the referees.
- The home team will change their jersey in the case of a color conflict.
- The home team will wear light colored uniform. The away team will be dark.
- In no event will a player be allowed to participate if said player is not on the tournament approved roster/game card.
- A player who arrives at the playing field after the pre-game procedure may not enter the game until after being checked in by the referee or assistant referee for both player pass and equipment.
Post game Procedure
- Referees will ensure the return of player passes to the respective manager/coach.
- Managers/coaches of both teams will ensure that their sideline area is clean and that all trash is in containers.
- Referees will submit scores and they will be reflected in the group table.
- Referees will fill out and deliver an incident report to the Referee Coordinator or Venue Director as soon as possible; however, no later than 30 minutes after their final game of that day.

Weather Policy
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Tournament directors may delay or terminate a match due to inclement weather, at which point the score might be declared final. The competition director may relocate or reschedule any game, change the duration of any game, change format to penalty kicks of any game, or cancel any preliminary game.
Preliminary games suspended by the referee may be declared official at the discretion of the tournament director.
UNPLAYABLE FIELD CONDITIONS
If the fields are declared unplayable by the tournament staff every attempt will be made for teams to participate in full-team kicks from the mark. The format for this will be:
- Every team member will be allowed 1 kick from the mark, keeper included.
- Substitutions are NOT allowed
- Should the number of players be uneven between the teams, the team with less players will continue in the order they started. The first penalty taker will go again, then the second, and so forth.
- Should the score be tied after every player has kicked, it will then go head-to-head.
