Inter Atlanta FC Celebrates GA100 Pitch Unveiling at Toomer Elementary
Atlanta, GA (August 12, 2026) – Inter Atlanta FC joined the Atlanta United Community Fund, American Family Insurance, Toomer Elementary School, and members of the local community on July 29 to celebrate the unveiling of new soccer pitches at Toomer Elementary.
The new pitches are an investment in a local school and the surrounding community, providing students, youth soccer players, and families with an improved place to play the game.
Toomer Elementary has been an important part of Inter Atlanta FC's programming for several years. The new pitches will provide an improved playing environment for Inter Atlanta players, while also creating a better space for students and other members of the community to enjoy.
The July 29 celebration kicked off with a "ribbon kicking” ceremony to officially unveil the new pitches. It brought together Inter Atlanta players and families, Toomer Elementary representatives, community members, and project partners for an evening centered around the new pitches. Attendees enjoyed free food, music, giveaways, and the opportunity to meet several Atlanta United players, including Alexey Miranchuk, Cayman Togashi, Enea Mihaj, and Fafa Picault.
The project is part of the Atlanta United Community Fund's effort to build up to 100 mini pitches across Georgia, helping make soccer more accessible in communities throughout the state. Inter Atlanta FC is proud to have received grant funding through the Atlanta United Community Fund to support the improvements at Toomer Elementary. A portion of the project will also support free after-school Future Blues programming for Toomer students beginning this fall.
By investing in local soccer clubs, schools, and community spaces, the Atlanta United Community Fund is helping provide more opportunities for children to play soccer close to home.
The new pitches will serve a wide range of players and community members in the years ahead. Toomer students will have a new place to play during the school day and after school, while Inter Atlanta teams will continue to use the facility for practices and weekend matches.
For Inter Atlanta FC, the project is a great example of what can happen when local organizations come together to improve spaces that serve the community.
